Garden Design for Nature
I’ll use my experience and creative eye to plan your dream garden, with a design that will work for you and the environment, including bees, butterflies, soil and wildlife.
I can also help you create your own design for your garden.
I will meet with you to assess the site, and then come to understand your ideas, tastes and requirements.
Taking into account how you wish to and who will use the garden, I will create a design and layout that is both stylish and practical for you, using your preferred plants and colour schemes. Wildlife and the environment will always be central to my design process.
I will also tailor the garden to the amount of gardening you want to do, from low maintenance to producing your own fruit and vegetables. The garden scheme will also take into account your physical abilities and needs, for example raised beds for easy access, or creating sensory and scented gardens for you (and the bees!).
As a professional gardener, I can provide a follow up service to maintain the garden created for you.
Quotes will be provided upon assessment of the garden scheme.

Planting Schemes for Nature
I will use your current garden layout, to create new planting schemes that will support bees, butterflies, wildlife and also protect the environment, bringing to life your dream organic and wildlife garden.
I will select plants that need no artificial pesticides and herbicides, and are suitable for our local climate.
The planting schemes will also take into account your preferred colour scheme and types of plant, how much gardening you want to do and what you will use the garden for i.e. for family or friends entertaining.
As professional gardener, I can provide a follow up service, to maintain the garden scheme created for you.

The photo shows an example where an existing garden layout was re-designed, using new planting schemes and with minimal building work. The client loved the colour pink but also Prairie Garden schemes based on the landscapes of the American Mid-west. Adding colour to the existing garden buildings, some reclaimed rustic timbers and then long curving borders, we created a very individual feel in a local garden.
This planting scheme focussed on hardy plants, which needed little intervention and plants that were favoured by wildlife. This included a range of ornamental grasses like Stipa gigantea and Pennisetum alopecuroides plus flowering plants, like Echinacea purpurea and Verbena bonariensis , as in the image. This garden was developed a number of years ago and has become a home to a range of wildlife. In the summer months, it is packed with butterflies and humming with bees.

Coaching, Training & Advice
This service is for people who want to learn how to be a gardener or expand existing gardening skills, in order to create a natural and organic garden for themselves.
I will be alongside you in your garden to help you become a confident and more experienced gardener, who will be able to design, plant and maintain your dream plot.
We will create lists of plants that will fit your tastes and be healthy in your garden. These plants will both attract and provide food for wildlife, as well as offering shelter and habitat. At the same time, these planting schemes will avoid the usage of chemicals or methods that damage ecosystems and the environment.
Plans and designs will be provided, based on the plant list we have developed.
Design ideas and advice can be offered based on your garden plot, your resources and your personal style.
